Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2009-2014

The Memorandum of Understanding on the implementation of the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2009-2014 between the Republic of Croatia and the Kingdom of Norway was signed on April 29 2014 with the purpose to contribute to the reduction of economic and social disparities in the European Economic Area and to strengthening of bilateral relations between Norway and Beneficiary States through financial contributions in the priority sectors.
 
The Memorandum of Understanding encompassed also the project “Improving the quality and efficiency of the judicial system through infrastructure development and better management”. The responsible authority for managing the programme is Ministry of Regional Development and European Union funds (Programme Operator). The Project promotor i.e. beneficiary is the Ministry of Justice as a body responsible for initiating, preparing and implementing the project.
 
The overall objective of the project is to increase the efficiency of the judiciary and improve the quality of justice in line with European standards and the purpose is to ensure that justice is delivered in an appropriate setting and through timely and well-managed processes.
