Short description:
The project includes cross-border cooperation element, namely, analysis of the existing mediation system in comparison with other European states will be carried out to highlight the possibilities for improving the Croatian mediation system. Cooperation will be realised through study visits to mentioned countries to gain insight into the functioning of their system of alternative dispute settlement. Mediation systems of neighbouring countries will be compared with those of north-western European countries. Also, sociological-legal examination of the reasons behind the underutilization of mediation will be carried out. Manual on court-annexed mediation will be developed. 500 professional staff (judges, lawyers, civil servants, court advisers, state attorneys) will be trained on mediation. Awareness raising campaign will be focused on judicial staff and the public.
