Trainings for probation officers “Motivating clients to change and use of motivational interviewing techniques” and “Handling violent criminal offenders”

On 21-22 October 2021, in Valbandon, two of the envisaged six trainings under the ESF project "Improving the quality of the judiciary by strengthening the capacities of prison and probation system and victim and witness support system" were delivered for probation officers by the Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation Sciences of the University of Zagreb, based on the conducted training needs analysis in the probation system. 
23 probation officers participated in the trainings entitled “Motivating clients to change and use of motivational interviewing techniques” and “Handling violent criminal offenders”. The trainings were delivered by Dr. Anita Jandrić Nišević, Associate Professor at the Criminology Department of the Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation Sciences, University of Zagreb. 
The trainings will enable probation officers to improve their professional competencies and the quality of work with different offenders under supervision of the probation service.
