Inaugural visit of Albanian Ambassador

On Monday 27 September 2021, Minister Ivan Malenica received an inaugural visit from H.E. Mr. Riza Poda, Ambassador of Albania to the Republic of Croatia.

The topics discussed at the meeting included support for the EU enlargement process, which would generate a positive momentum for a concrete regional cooperation and help strengthen the ties between Croatia and Albania.
 
Minister Malenica confirmed a very good cooperation with Albania and offered further assistance in the form of exchange of experiences and professional assistance, especially with regard to the reforms of the justice system and meeting the accession requirements under Chapter 23 – Judiciary and fundamental rights, and Chapter 24 - Justice, freedom and security. He stressed the Ministry’s openness for further cooperation and exchanges between experts.
 
Minister Malenica and Ambassador Poda also addressed a deepening of cooperation with the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Albania, and the possibility of signing a Memorandum of Cooperation between the two ministries in the near future, which would intensify the cooperation and specify a framework and manner of judicial cooperation between Albania and Croatia.
