Documents from civil registers

For the purpose of certifying facts recorded in the civil registers, copies from the civil registers and certificates are issued as documents of permanent value.

Copies from the civil registers comprise data recorded in the civil registries until the time of their issue.

Certificates issued on the basis of the civil registers contain some of the data recorded in the civil registers or some of the civil status facts arising from such data.

Documents from the civil registers are issued by registry offices at the request of persons with a legal interest.

A person with a legal interest is:
  • the person who is the subject of a civil register record,
  • an immediate family member,
  • an adoptive parent,
  • a guardian,
  • other persons with a legal interest, which needs to be established prior to issuing a document.

The issuance of documents from the civil registers is free of charge.
