Exchange of experiences and good practices in cooperation with probation service
On 24 November 2023, in the premises of the Judicial Academy in the County Court building in Varaždin, the fifth regional workshop, entitled “Exchange of experiences and good practices in cooperation with the probation service”, was held for municipal court judges and municipal state attorneys from the areas of Varaždin, Čakovec, Koprivnica and Bjelovar.
Through presentations and a joint discussion on the ways of performing probation tasks, probation officers, judges and state attorneys analysed the cooperation so far and put forward proposals for improving future cooperation.
The participants were given a presentation on the performance of probation work in the stages before, during and after the criminal proceedings, with special emphasis on the preparation of a probation report before and during the criminal proceedings. Presentations were given by Judge Dijana Rizvić from the Municipal Criminal Court in Zagreb and Marija Balenović, a judge of the High Criminal Court of the Republic of Croatia, and officers of the Central Probation Office and regional probation offices.
The workshop was organised under the project “Strengthening human rights protection and public safety by improving the capacities of the Croatian probation service”, financed under the Norwegian Financial Mechanism.
The participants of the workshop expressed their satisfaction with the workshop and emphasised the usefulness of such trainings and of mutual cooperation.
