Expert visit to Norwegian probation office and training of 4 Croatian civil servants on electronic monitoring

From 6 to 9 March 2023, civil servants of the Directorate for Prison System and Probation participated in a training on the application of electronic monitoring in the Probation Office in Kristiansand, Kingdom of Norway. The training was realised under the project “Strengthening human rights protection and public safety by improving the capacities of the Croatian probation service”, financed from the Norwegian Financial Mechanism. 

During the training, Croatian civil servants were familiarised with the implementation of electronic monitoring in Norway, the work of the entire electronic monitoring team, premises and equipment used as well as the monitoring application and system i.e. the work of the Electronic Monitoring Control Centre. Two Croatian civil servants were also on a field visit to see the installation of an electronic monitoring bracelet on convicts. Croatian civil servants also visited the NGO Blue Cross in Kristiansand, where they were presented the activities of the NGO, with special emphasis on working with convicts serving sentences with electronic monitoring.
