On 22 and 25 March 2024, trainings on the validated Offender Assessment System (OAS) for probation officers were held at the Ministry of Justice and Public Administration, under the project “Strengthening human rights protection and public safety by improving the capacities of the Croatian probation service”, funded by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014-2021. The trainings were delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lucija Vejmelka and Prof. Dr. Marijana Majdak from the Social Work Study Centre, Faculty of Law of the University of Zagreb and Dr. Iva Černja Rajter from the Institute of Social Sciences Ivo Pilar. Some officers attended the training live at the premises of the Ministry, but most of them followed it online.

The participants were presented with the results of the scientific validation of the Offender Assessment System (OAS), carried out by the aforementioned professors, and proposals for its adaptation. The statistical validation of the instrument has shown that the instrument as a whole is valid and reliable, that it exhibits good to high sensitivity and shows significant results with respect to recidivism.
