First meeting of heads of probation offices and heads of correctional treatment departments in penal institutions under PA „Strengthening cooperation between prison system and probation“

Under the project „Strengthening human rights protection and public safety by improving the capacities of the Croatian probation service“, the first meeting of heads of probation offices and heads of correctional treatment departments in penal institutions was held in Gospić on 9 November 2021, as one of the activities aimed at strengthening the cooperation between the prison system and probation. 
The coordinator of said activity and Head of Gospić Probation Office Ms Iverija Filipović informed the participants about the project implemented under the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014-2021 and delivered a presentation of a survey conducted in July 2020. The survey was conducted among the civil servants in the prison system and those in the probation system to determine how familiar they are with the operation of the other system, their level of satisfaction with current cooperation and to collect proposals on how to improve the cooperation. 
After the introduction, there was a discussion on current topics from the scope of the two services, and some concrete proposals and conclusions about further strengthening of their cooperation were produced, which is generally the main purpose of such periodical meetings.
