Workshop “Exchange of experiences and examples of good practice in cooperation with the probation service”

On 27 March 2023, the first regional workshop on the “Exchange of experiences and examples of good practice in cooperation with the Probation Service” was held at the premises of the Ministry of Justice and Public Administration for judges of municipal courts and the Municipal State Attorneys' Office of the Zagreb area.    

Through presentations and a joint discussion on the methods of doing probation work, probation officers, judges and state attorneys analysed their previous cooperation and presented proposals for improving future cooperation. 

Probation work was presented in stages - before, during and after criminal proceedings, with special emphasis on the preparation of the report of the probation service in the stages before and during criminal proceedings. In addition to the probation officers, Judge Dijana Rizvić from the Municipal Criminal Court in Zagreb and Marija Balenović, Judge of the High Criminal Court of the Republic of Croatia, spoke about their experience of cooperation with the probation service. 

The workshop was organised under the project "Strengthening human rights protection and public safety by improving the capacities of the Croatian probation service", financed under the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014-2021.

The participants highlighted their satisfaction with the workshop and emphasised the usefulness of such trainings and mutual cooperation.
